Students at Legacy schools don’t just learn the fundamentals of a strong education such as math, reading and writing, they are also given the tools to be a good citizen.

Every day Legacy students are taught about principles such as patriotism, loyalty, kindness, responsibility, caring and service.

One of the ways in which Legacy campuses encourage students to live out these values is by honoring those who make sacrifices to protect others. Students recognize first responders and members of the military on various days throughout the year, one of these being Patriot Day.

Ms. Attwood’s second grade class at Legacy-East Mesa commemorated Patriot Day this year by writing letters of gratitude to first responders. These letters were delivered to the Mesa Police Department and distributed by one of their sergeants. He then surprised the students by making a video thanking them for their support.
