Teacher of the Month (April): Mrs. Mills (First Grade Teacher)
Reason Nominated: Mrs. Mills is such a special and talented first grade teacher. She walks the extra mile not only for her students, but for all students and their parents. She believes children learn when they are happy and having fun. She encourages her students to read, read, read and to ask as many questions as they want. Aside from being an incredible teacher, she is also our girls varsity volleyball coach. She opens minds and sparks courageous thinking. Our students discover their unique paths to excellence, as Mrs. Mills teaches them, guides them and cheers them on.
Staff of the Month (April): Ms. Alicia Porter (Front Office Secretary)
Reason Nominated: Ms. Alicia Porter is awesome; we wish we had a thousand of her! It is such an honor to work with such a kind and gifted person. Whatever we need help with—whether it is making sure there’s coverage for all teachers, calling in substitute teachers, submitting and receiving orders, making copies, delivering paperwork to teachers, or taking care of a student who is having a bad day, Ms. Alicia is there. She is an asset to Legacy Traditional Schools. She has a positive and powerful impact every day on our students and faculty.
