Teacher of the Month (January): Mrs. Haugen (Kindergarten Teacher)
Reason Nominated: Our rockstar teacher this month is Mrs. Haugen. Mrs. Haugen teaches Kindergarten and was chosen for all the effort she puts into her classroom. She chooses engaging activities and embodies the idea of positive discipline. When you step into her classroom, you will hear her communicate high expectations to her students. Her bubbly personality and smile can light up a room whenever she walks in. She is highly respected amongst her teacher peers, parents, and students.
Staff of the Month (January): Mrs. Matkin and Mrs. Thomas (Health Assistants/Nurses)
Reason Nominated: Often the ones that fly under the radar are the ones who deserve to be recognized the most. Mrs. Matkin and Mrs. Thomas are the nurses here at Legacy who are always willing to lend a hand, arm, foot, or eyes. The teachers chose these two as a team because of their willingness to help with award winning attitudes. They are a team of caregivers for more than just cuts and bruises. They heal our souls.
