Next week, Monday, May 10 through Friday, May 14, all Legacy students and their families will have the opportunity to learn about leading healthy lives from the comfort of their homes. Annually in the spring, campus physical education departments give students opportunities to participate in health-related activities during campus Wellness Week celebrations across the network. This year, we have teamed up with national organizations and guest speakers to present the Legacy Traditional Schools network-wide virtual wellness week sessions.
Our campuses recognize that it is important for health and wellness awareness to begin at an early age and continue to grow. This year students and their families can participate virtually daily to learn from five medical wellness and fitness professionals. Below is the wellness week schedule:
- Monday, May 10 – Sun Safety presented by the American Cancer Society and Banner M.D. Anderson’s T.W. Wellness Melanoma Center
- Tuesday, May 11 – Healthy Eating & Nutrition presented by the Dr. Yum Project
- Wednesday, May 12 – Exercises to stay active & healthy over summer break presented by Ignite Sports Performance
- Thursday, May 13 – Mindfulness in Children presented by Mindfulness First
- Friday, May 14 – ‘Pursuing Your Goals’ presented by Lyndsey Fry, former U.S. Women’s Hockey Silver Medalist and current Arizona Coyotes Radio Color Analyst
The Wellness Week webinars will be broadcast nightly at 6 p.m. on the Legacy District Facebook page. Be sure to like the Facebook page and tune in for these exciting health, nutrition, and wellness sessions!
