Superintendent Grady was memorialized by the Legacy Traditional Schools community during a service at its Queen Creek campus. 

CHANDLER, AZ – Oct. 7, 2021 – Legacy Traditional Schools announces with great sadness that Superintendent Patrick Grady passed away Monday morning, Sept. 27, 2021.

A caring and charismatic school leader, Mr. Grady began his career with Legacy Traditional School – Queen Creek in 2010 as a junior high history teacher and quickly assumed the role of assistant principal in 2013, then principal in 2015.

In 2018, Mr. Grady joined Legacy’s district office, as deputy superintendent, followed by associate superintendent in 2019, and superintendent in 2021 – a role in which he provided oversight of school operations for all Legacy schools across Arizona, Nevada and Texas.

Throughout his time with Legacy, Mr. Grady’s accomplishments as a teacher, school leader and district administrator were recognized through several awards, including District Teacher of the Year in 2012, Principal of the Year in 2016, and most recently as Leader of the Year in 2019. 

“Patrick’s decade of contributions to Legacy were innumerable and inspiring, allowing our leaders, faculty, staff, students and entire families to be touched by his engaging spirit,” said Nicole Kirkley, chief academic officer for Legacy Traditional Schools. “We will never forget Patrick, and the Legacy community mourns together with his family.”

Legacy Traditional Schools extends its heartfelt condolences to the Grady family, Patrick’s wife and three young children. 

A Celebration of Life was held Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Legacy Traditional School – Queen Creek auditorium with family, friends, and colleagues.
