Legacy Traditional Schools is thrilled to highlight the achievements of its students at this year’s State Science and Engineering Fairs. Each of this year’s winners and honorable mention recipients demonstrated a commitment to STEM education, exceptional creativity, and a rigorous approach to scientific inquiry. In Nevada, the excitement unfolded from Wednesday, March 20 to 22, 2024, at UNLV’s College of Sciences, and Arizona’s event took center stage from April 4-6, 2024, at the Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, AZ.

“Legacy students continue to astound us with their ingenuity and dedication at this year’s Science and Engineering Fairs,” said Nevada Superintendent of Academics Jennifer Emling. “We are proud of each of our competitors and our educators’ unwavering commitment to STEM education.”

Emling added, “The Southern Nevada Regional Science & Engineering Fair is crucial in promoting an interest in STEM for elementary, middle, and high school students across Southern Nevada.”

Arizona Superintendent Mia Vega remarked on each participant’s educational journey, “These students have represented Legacy Traditional Schools with distinction while contributing insights and solutions to pressing challenges in our world.” 

690 students from 140 schools, including 58 Title I Schools, competed at this year’s Arizona State Engineering Fair. Vega added that participating in these fairs is not just about winning but also about learning, discovery, and broadening interest in STEM programs.
