Chandler, AZ – Legacy Traditional Schools, an award-winning public charter school network in Arizona, proudly announced Russell Sperati, Principal of Legacy Traditional School – Chandler, as the 2023 Patrick Grady Principal of the Year. Mr. Sperati was recognized by his peers and colleagues for his exceptional contributions to student and school success at a ceremony held on May 3, 2023, at the Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes.

The Patrick Grady Principal of the Year Award was established in memory of the school’s former Superintendent, who passed away suddenly in 2021.

“Russell Sperati is a shining example of the leadership we look for in our schools,” said Mia Vega, Superintendent. “He has created a culture of excellence and support at Legacy Traditional School – Chandler, and his students and staff are thriving under his guidance. We are proud to have Mr. Sperati leading our Chandler campus.” 

During the ceremony, colleagues and staff members praised Mr. Sperati’s dedication and leadership, noting his support and commitment to fostering a strong school culture. 

In addition to the Principal of the Year award, Legacy Traditional Schools recognized Arizona Teacher of the Year, Jody Klue, Reading Interventionist and Junior High Math and Social Studies Teacher from Legacy – Glendale. Arizona Staff of the Year Award was awarded to Susan Vaninetti, Instructional Coach from Legacy – Glendale. Legacy also recognized 32 teachers and staff members for their milestone achievements, having served the school network for ten years.
